Group: Super Administrators Posts: 3296 Joined: 2-March 01 From: Surrey, UK Member No.: 13	There is a early 80's gold Merc with German plates parked outside us at work - it's been here for about 2 or 3 weeks we think and yesterday it started making a strange noise - sounded like maybe the alarm had gone off and the battery had run down so the horn for the alarm was kind of 'clicking'. We didn't think much of it but it's still going today - and if it was the battery running down surely it would have stopped by now? So we figured (being very community spirited) we ought to at least let the old bill know - I call them up and spoke to a very friendly dispatcher who I explained the situation to (me: 'theres a car parked outside our office' him: 'whats it doing?' me: 'ticking' him 'ah...' ) So after a 15 minute conversation the conclusion is that they don't care. Group: Full Members Posts: 112 Joined: 30-March 02 Member No.: 77	good ol coppas nice to know they still have a social conscience and care for the community. look on the bright side, if this had happened where i live the bomb squad would have been down in about 2mins and pissed everyone off by evaccing poeple within a 20mile radius of the vicinity, and carrying out a "controlled explosion"

With a Fiat Panda. When I was talking to the dispatcher he said try contacting enviromental health if it was causing noise pollution - I can just imagine the conversation: "Yes can you see to a car which is causing noise pollution for me?" "Certainly - what sort of noise?"
