I have a problem...

Does anyone know the most stable version of the nvidia detonator drivers?  Tried 28.32 under  XPpro, 2kpro, and am know reducedd to trying win98se but every game i play crashes out after about 10 mins of play, each OS will run for hours on end without any problem but games have just started going tits up for no reason.

I am seriously considering geting a new Graphics card but cant really afford it, either my pc is very sick or I have some wierd virus that lingers after a complete format and just decides to fuck with games.  I may try reverting back to the 12.41 drivers and see how they go and if they dont work i'm going to attack my pc with a hammer.

Any suggestions welcome.

I have 28.32 and they work fine.  I downloaded them a long time ago and it also fucked my machine up and I reverted and it was fine.

Now I have tried again it seems okay :D

Dunno if that helps....

try the 12.41 WHQL
if those make your comp crash you should use the "detonator destroyer" to delete the detonator drivers. Then proceed and install the drivers on the gfx cd.
If you still get crashes: try formatting. Install windows XP, (DO NOT INSTALL THE 4in1 DRIVERS!!!;), and then the 12.41 det drivers...
if you STILL get crashes, it could be a hardware issue...

I'm using the 12.41 drivers now and they still crashed, cured the problem by forcing the motherboard not to use agp 4x mode and havent crashed since.  So I have a Ferrari with a skoda engine in it at the moment...

think that kinda point to a hardware problem, just miffed that all was fine about 2 weeks ago and now it would seem the cards on the way out, oh well.

Remove all drivers to do with the display card (delete them from your hdd so that windows cannot find them) then reboot the machine so that windows finds the new hardware and asks you about the drivers then install the new driver.
I had this problem before and this was the only way to sort it.
