Thank you, Steve, for putting the thing on in the first place, and thanks to Gilly and Hatts for yet again working too hard and stressing too much over a bunch of whinging players
I personally had a great day and I feel the rest of our team did as well, especially once we'd won a few and shot a few folks. I felt it was a shame that some people couldn't get into the spirit and felt the need to cheat, whinge etc etc but what can you do with tourney types eh? Hopefully next time more people will get the point and leave the electros at home, as I felt it would have been even more fun with a few less balls in the air, less overshooting etc. But all in all a great event, a fantastic weekend and yah boo sucks to all who stayed at home This post has been edited by Doctor: Jun 1 2005, 08:37 PM -------------------- "Think neither of victory nor of yourself, but only of eating a really big pie."

Yeh maan. Had a fantastic weekend. The tourney was great to play in and makes me think I should play more often. I understand that Steve/Gilly/Hatts will be arranging another 15-man woodland at Campaign in November. Many of us have had some awesome days of paintball cos of their previous efforts, so it'd be good payback for the Patrol to get involved and supporting the event, whether it be by working or playing. Look forward to that one.

Thanks to everyone who came. Russ |

It was a moral victory
But we won anyway by having a great time, not being scenario fags and not cheating or acting like wankers. We won a couple of games and held our own (with a 14-player scratch team using about half mech guns ) in the others once everyone had woken up, stopped vomiting and remembered about using cover etc. Add in a great party with the new cinema-in-a-shed, fire and Jaffa Cakes and it was actually a pretty good weekend out, so I am definitely in for the next one. We need to make it mech only next time as Jon suggested and keep the horrid Timmies out, hopefully this will also discourage the cheating/whinging/ramping twats and let us play some quality retro woodsball. I could just feel the shadow of a really great event all day as I watched the team shooting tooled-up tourney monkeys with their A5's and blowbacks and the odd pump, right until some 15-year old ripped me up with another fucking Timmy. Again. Highlights of the weekend included Russ and Jez playing duelling arseholes, Team America in a hut in the safe area (Fuck Yeah!) and helping Olly fill that bastard Qloader again. Big ups to Warren for taking the retro thing the whole nine yards and starting Sunday with copious vomiting and Jez and Dave for learning about the changes regular tournament practice has made to the modern game; standing regally in the open they were left a little bruised and bemused as a head and hopper popped up, gave them five each in about a second and then disappeared. I wish I could have seen it Russ won Ringer player of the day with some nice work on the tapes and Pete also gets a mention in dispatches for some sneaky flag hanging. Everyone really needs to try and make the next one as it really is a great day playing paintball how it should be played by fat old blokes like me Also- the site is a possible venue for the next Kenny's (Stargate ) and if so we'll have a few hills to climb but great terrain, a good safe area and a campsite with an amazing view. The weekend after the Camapign Cup is mooted as the time, so I'm saving up for September as Cup followed by Kenny's will be bloody great This post has been edited by Doctor: Jun 1 2005, 08:40 PM -------------------- "Think neither of victory nor of yourself, but only of eating a really big pie."
