Yes, I'm looking at a new gun, again. Prices and politics have drawn me to these two lovely puppies. I've had a look and a rip on both and they're both great. Which one would you choose and why?

Having no real experience of either (a dozen balls through each maybe) I have voted for the Ego to support Planet and Belsales.

I do like the blue/black fade on the Proto as it matches my Eblade. There's no such option on the Ego. Are you the man to talk to if I want one?

Get the Ego. No disrespect to the Proto (lots to Jeff tho tongue.gif ) but they are really nice. Just built all to hell and planet's legendary support and new things- Dye guns don't seem to get factory upgrades and improvements like planet stuff does. But that's just me. WTF do you need another gun for anyhoo you marker whoremeister, it won't kill the pain you know squeeze.gif See you at the big game. inlove.gif

P.S. does everyone know the big game has changed venue due to a bad case of buzzards? Check out p8 or the warped website for the details- still looks amazing and only 20 mins away from the original site.

I have voted ego merely because i think the after sales support from planet is excellent.

However, I visited Jeff at work the other week and Dye have a serious setup going on down there. I'm sure from what Jeff told me that you could see Dye rivalling Planet in the race for customer support in the near future. Oh and by the way, Jeffs makes good coffee. I have put his workplace on my ever growing list of Met Cop Coffee/Donut stops. Expect more frequent visits.

honestly mike......they are both awesome guns mate and it will all boil down to personal preference. As far as factory upgrades go....there is no need if the gun is built right in the first place!!!.
If anything goes wrong you just get it to us or a tech and we sort it....same as planet.
Had a chat with Ledz the other day and Ego's and Dye Matrices are taking over the world!!!

If you want a proto, blk/blu i saw one on P8 for £520. Would rather you bought one from us but it would cost you more. At the end of the day another of our guns being used regularly is all good.

....by the way. to take care of one you only have to change some o-rings...cant get much easier than that!!!

I'm sure you wont be dissapointed with either.

To be honest ive still never got round to shooting a proto matrix, but it'll be a nippy day in hell before someone manages to prise the my Ego from my cold dead hands...

Just try them both out and see which you like best, Ill be at the big game so you can try mine there if you havnt got hold of one before then, and all the campaign guys have proto matrix's now so im sure they wouldnt object to letting you have a go if you see them down the site.

...Mike,

I've tried both and as you may know I have bought the Proto Matrix...

Honest opinion:

...Without the new boards...I'd definately say the Proto...especially after Jeffers sorted mine out and Rory worked his magic 'refining' the trigger... However I have yet to try one with the new promised Millennium boards...

...I've tried the Ego...with and without the new Millenium settings upgrade...
i) Without it - it sucked especially when I compared it to my Alias...
ii) With it - having tried Teflon's....it was like a totally different marker

However like everyone has already stated try b4 you buy...your more than welcome to have a go with me Proto anytime I'm down the site...and I'm sure our Ego friends will do the same...

Si - out of interest, Planet are obviously chasing down the Intimidator market with the Ego, and re your comment 'sucked ... compared it to my Alias' - how do the 2 compare with the new software in the Ego (appreciate you can't wax poetic over either due to sposorship now, but you are the target market for the Ego so I'm curious)

Prior to picking up the Proto...I got the new Tadao Board for the Alias...comparing how well that shot...against a Ego with Millennium settings...spot on!!
