I know the Xbox360 Core system only came with composite cables but it wasn't heralded by Microsoft as the machine that would drive HiDef video playback into our homes. Sony have championed Blu-Ray as the HiDef format of the future but have made their base pack, the model most of their casual-gamer userbase will plump for, incapable of this. I'm not doubting it will still sell, but a lot of people are going to be disappointed. --------------------
