Congratulations are in order - Neil has been awarded an 'Assistant Commissioners Commendation' and further nominated for 'Commissioners Commendation' (the highest award a Police officer can get before the Queen gets involved) for his part in the Police operation at Kings Cross following the July 7th terrorist bombings.
As many of you will know Neil was part of a PSU (Police Support Unit), stationed in London that day as crowd control support (the G8 summit was on at Gleneagles that week and they were anticipating some trouble from anti-capitalists scrotes in London) when they were called to what they were told was a train derailment at Kings Cross. On arrival the PSU was split into it's three 'serials', A, B and C. 111A were cordon control on platforms and above ground at Kings Cross, some of them witnessed the bus bomb in Tavistock Square while performing their duty of trying to evacuate the area. 111B were first to Russell Square and entered the train from that end. 111C was Neil's unit and entered the train to evacuate casualties from the Kings Cross end, Neil had the dubious fortune of being medic for the day so he spent quite a lot of time in the actual carriage. As far as I know from the brief conversation we had the other day everyone in that serial (111C) has been awarded equally so congratulation go out to all of them for an outstanding job. -------------------- "We are number one, all others are number two or lower!" - The Sphinx, Mystery Men
