So, I've bought a new preset reg to screw into my 1.1 4500psi bottle. I've screwed it in all the way. When I go to fill it, the seal pops out , the bottle whips around and tries to decaptitate all the unamused onlookers and the guy from H-Pac looks at me with pity....
I tried thread locking in but the same thing happens. what am I doing wrong? I want to be able to remove the reg to fly to the States with it. |

The threads should extend enough to allow the o-ring to compress in order to make a friction grip and seal under pressure - as Jamie says if the o-ring is 'herniating' (great description btw) there is something seriously wrong - either damage is allowing it to be under very high pressure without the compression of the fit (if that makes sense) or a disparity between the threads is causing it to not compress enough and to form a seal - whatever it is be very carefull with this!
