I've read mixed versions of events from the big game, anyone care to tell us what it was really like? How did it compare with the others we been to? Should I be sad I couldn't make it? Did anyone lose any keys? Who substituted for me in the pro-drinking arena?

Tell all!!!! biggrin.gif

Big shouts to all those that made it. Thanks to our unofficial sponsors, SouthWest trains , Kebab Portable Power and Lighting and Tunnocks Caramel Wafers. Thanks to Olly for his Cinema-in-a-Tent system, that worked a treat and kept the Ringers entertained. Thanks to Ben's Grandma for putting us up on the Saturday night and even making us breakfast in the morning. Cheers to Errol for lending me his Eclipse Ego for the afternoon.
All in all, we put a lot of work into making a weekend out of this. Olly had to make a bracket for the projector, literally 'on-site', Dave sorted everyone out with radios so we could keep in touch on the way up and Kebab dismantled his car so we could have his speaker system. It's fair to say it was a bit of an anti-climax when a horde of pissed-up Northeners gate-crashed our tent on the Saturday night, screamed at the top of their voices for most of the night and made off with one of our chairs. Then it rained overnight, creating a two foot deep swamp right by our staging area on Sunday morning. Finally, we go out to play and the whole thing resorts to the typical Big-Game shifting skirmish line for the rest of the day. Our frustration was further compounded with 60% of our team standing out of range of the conflict and nowhere near any of the required objectives. These are things that are completely out of the organiser's control. If somebody wants to spend £90 to shoot paintballs vertically into the sky all day, there's nothing you can do about it.
I'm not writing the weekend off completely because I got to spend some quality time with some of my best friends and even met up with some old ones. The Warped management did well to make an event out of what could have been a disastrous situation. Well done to all involved. Don't worry Ringers, we shall have our revenge. Soon.
