Hood, 'Mind your P's and q's' is an old saying from the 19th century, and was generally banded around in Bars.
A p was a pint, and a q was a quart - about 1/3rd of a pint. If it was getting a bit rowdy in the bar, people were told to mind their pints and quarts - which then got shortened. Don't ask me how I klnow, it's just one of those things that my brain does! I don't know either -------------------- Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers of a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae.
The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Fcuknig amzanig huh |
