Saw this elsewhere and thought it was a good idea.

Why do you have the nicknames you have and what are they?

I'll start things off:

Wingnut:-
The name was given to me by either Jim or Niall from Campaign Paintball site because I needed a nickname for marshaling. †The only thing they could think of was I had slightly large ears and so resembled a wingnut.
From then on it just kinda stuck. †I now use it for Counterstrike - [Ringer Patrol] Wingnut.

THIS WAS MY 1000th POST :D

I got the name Neavis when I played for the Sharks paintball team. Previously when I played for Split Personalities I was called 'Chemo' because I always seemed to have had a haircut just before we played (really it was a cunning plan to make me run faster with less air-resistance)

Sherm/The_Sherminator came about because i needed a name for counterstrike, and i had heard about american pie 2, so i thought about american pie, and The_Sherminator made his appearence in counterstrike.

I bear no resemblance to him, but i am a sophisticated sex robot sent back in time, to change the future for one lucky lady ;)

Maybe not ???

And another thing, none of my friends (that dont play cs) call me Sherm. Strange non? (say in a french accent while talking about chilies)

Well it aint strange, cos i have 2 identities cs murray and real life murray. Ok i'll shut up now :)

Dunno where Lardy came from but its probably because i worked in a bakery and ate all the pies, i'm sure it started before that though. †In cs terms its rolled off the toungue well when you put LAW on the front of it. †Before Lardy however I used MadMitch for gaming purposes, Mad because I have a very loose grip on reality and Mitch because thats what my sister calls me an they are the first 5 letters of my surname. †Itchy, because of the rash... er actually its the first 5 letters of my surname minus the M and plus a Y.

Most my friends call me Lardy, Lards, Fatboy etc etc etc, but I will get my revenge one day by giving there first born children nicknames that will cause them to shrivel under the torent of abuse they recieve.... making adolesance just a bit more disturbing for the parents of said children :)

I'm now using Mad Minted McItchy as my cs alias just what that means i couldnt tell ya

Bub..

Bub means brother.. i think... My Bub etc..
The name came about from
i dont know if u remember them : Feyd-Rautha (my brother) And Lanski (my brothers chum) they both started calling me it, then it spread and many people call me it now. On my birthday card the git put Bub so i think its stuck

Other nicknames from lou include - Benj - Benji - BenjiBub -
NOTE: Benj is usually used when she wants something and is in this tone:

Bennnnnnnnj pleeeeaaseee (like that)

Love u really loula
Bub-Benj-Benji-BenjiBub And of course Ben

Thats unfair!! I dont call u benj just when i want something meanie.

Lou..... my names Laura so its not really too similar, my dad called me it first, then ben heard and it stuck.
I think laura's a bit too much for him to manage sometimes!!
Sometimes he stretches to Loulabelle, lol, ive never really had a proper nick-name, bit sad really  :(

your not missing out on anything laura...  Nicknames generally highlight something regarded as flawed in the individual to whom the nick belongs to, nobody chooses the nick they become known by and it sticks because it gets the desired reaction or the "victim" just accepts it... It all depends on the people who give you the nick, thats why pretty much all my mates have nicknames like bedwetter, wanker... etc etc etc.  Rarely do you find nicknames that you'd be proud of like the aforementioned "hung like a baby's arm"

If I knew you (which I dont) I'd call you Lorry, partly because it goes with your name and partly because should the need ever arise I could say you required 12 wheels to carry your arse around behind you... and many many other such "jokes" related to Heavy Goods Vehicles, Including the "Wide load" joke, being the only girl currently allowed to eat yorkie bars etc etc etc etc...

This is the sort of thing that will stick because the truth of the matter is irrelevant, if it gets you to react in the desired way the nick will stick...

just my 2 cents on the subject.

If I've offended, deal with it... its not like my opinion matters :)
