Was listerning to LBC RADIO today and they were doing an item on ye olde english laws that are still legal
Did you know that in chester it is still legal to shoot a welshman with a crossbow
And in worchester it is still legal to shoot a scotsman with a longbow if he is found wondering the streets after night fall

Weird but true :D    :sneaky:

Another one for you
A law was past, in the 19th century, which is valid today, that states a pregnant woman can pee in the helmet of a police officer if there are no public loos availble
One to consider WPC jamie bird....perhaps? :)

Oi, watch it sunshine!

I knew about the Chester one as I lived there for a bit, but didn't get a chance to shoot any Welsh folks.

Olde law states that it is illegal for a hackney carriage (taxi to you and me) to be on a road without a bale of straw in the back   ???

Hood, 'Mind your P's and q's' is an old saying from the 19th century, and was generally banded around in Bars.

A p was a pint, and a q was a quart - about 1/3rd of a pint.

If it was getting a bit rowdy in the bar, people were told to mind their pints and quarts - which then got shortened.

Don't ask me how I klnow, it's just one of those things that my brain does! I don't know either

Simular to the chester one, in hereford on sundays if you see a welshman in the cathedral grounds you can kill them with a crossbow and then claim 5 shillings.

Also you can kill a welshman if they are trying to cross the river severn, again only with a crossbow. :p
