I never understood in Cluedo how some of the methods/weapons of the murder could be confused - to me it seems likely that you could tell poisoning apart from a shooting (I know, I know, it's just part of the game...).

But now the BBC is reporting that our beloved Police force may have had the same issue - in this story: John 'Goldfinger' Palmer 'killed by professional gunman':

QUOTE
Palmer had recently had surgery and it was initially thought he had suffered a cardiac arrest.

and
QUOTE
A week later, a post-mortem examination found the convicted conman had been shot in the chest six times, which prompted an investigation by the police watchdog.

I'm sure there's more to this story (please god there's more to this story...), than managing to overlook 6 gunshot woulds to the chest, but as it's reported at the moment, I'm struggling to see how...

A few gunshot wounds is sure to put anyone's heart into arrest.

There's an update on this story today (John 'Goldfinger' Palmer was 'unlawfully killed' - and it keeps getting better:

QUOTE
Although Essex Police originally thought he died of natural causes, it emerged he had been shot six times.

Greater Essex Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said: "I am sure that Mr Palmer was unlawfully killed."

and

QUOTE
Detectives originally thought he died of natural causes having previously had keyhole surgery to his chest, but it later emerged he had been murdered with the crime having "all the hallmarks" of a contract killing.

Now I'm no surgeon but I suspect keyhole surgery is not normally performed through six .32 calibre channels...
